1 John 3:1, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!...” (NIV)

My dad is a father of five children, four girls and one boy to be exact, and he loves each one of us to pieces. He is constantly going out of his way to provide for us and take care of us. Recently we went on a family vacation and Dad went above and beyond to make sure that every detail was perfect. He researched ahead to see what the best spots were to visit, woke up each morning to make us breakfast, planned our days, and he even went so far to make a few music CDs so we could have some party tunes for our fabulous family dance parties. In the big and small things, he is a true servant and I am constantly blown away by the way he loves us.

As much as my dad loves his children, do you know what is even cooler? Our heavenly Father loves us each so much more!

Some of you might be able to relate to a hands-on dad who has always been there for you, and then there are others who have never known the love of their earthly father. No matter what kind of relationship you have with your dad, I hope you know how incredibly loved and cherished you are in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. His love for you is unconditional. He cares about every detail in your life—the big and the small. He longs to hear from you, spend time with you, and wrap you up in His loving arms.

Today’s verse reminds us that we are children of God and He is always there to lavish us with His everlasting love. As Father’s Day quickly approaches, I hope you take some time to stop and think about what a privilege it is to be the daughter of the Heavenly King. It doesn’t matter what kind of dad you have here, always remember that you have a Father up in heaven who absolutely adores you!

Prayer:

Father, thank You that You love me in a way that no one else can. I am so blessed to be your daughter! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
