Looking for a quick and easy and oh-so-yummy treat to take to your New Year's Eve party? This might just be it!

Here are the ingredients:

35 - 40 saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or almonds

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Arrange crackers in a single layer on the bottom of a 10x15 inch baking sheet.
  3. Boil the butter and the brown sugar together for 3 minutes. Pour evenly over the crackers. Be careful it's extremely hot and sticky.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 5 minutes until golden.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over hot mixture.
  6. Wait about 5 minutes for them to melt, then spread evenly over entire sheet with the back of a spoon.
  7. While still hot, spread finely chopped walnuts or almonds over the top.
  8. Once cool, break into pieces.
