It's OK to be needy.
Really? I mean it is not too popular in our culture to be needy, is it? That's part of what this 4th of July is about - our independence!
It is even less cool to be needy if you are a women! Those who have come before us have fought very hard for women's rights - the right to vote, the right to work the same jobs for the same pay and many more. Being needy has been a bad thing. Unfortunately we don't let men open our door when we walk through, carry heavy objects for us (ok...I'll let you know. I am very old school. I love to be treated that way and still expect it!)
With God, being needy is not bad at all!
All of us are needy; we were born that way! Just think of how each one of us came into the word; completely dependent in every way. Dependent for food, shelter, affection. As we become adults, our dependence lessened.
Maybe this is why the Bible calls us the "children of God". Unlike humans, we will, we need to be, always dependent on God. Dependent on Him to fill the individual needs that we each have. He is the only one who can fill those needs with a pure motive and with unconditional love.
It is imperative that we learn as early as possible to run to Jesus to have these needs met because when our neediness is not filled by Jesus, it becomes a force of destruction in our lives. As radically changed, revolutionized by love, girls, we want this love to so fill us that it gives us the strength, courage and foundation we need to make wise choices.
Be needy, friend! It is a very good thing!
"And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3: 17 - 19
During this week, text your friends verses out of "His Revolutionary Love" as a reminder of God's love notes to them. Bringing our study into day to day living!
